Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data Cleaner Brighton and Hove UK collects through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We are the data controller for that information.
What we collect
We collect personal data in two situations:
- When you contact us. If you complete the quote form or email us, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the service you are enquiring about, your area, and anything you choose to tell us about the property.
- When you use the site. Our hosting provider records standard server information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and provide you with a quote.
- To arrange and carry out cleaning work you have booked.
- To keep records required for tax, insurance and accounting purposes.
- To protect the website against abuse, spam and attack.
Our lawful bases are legitimate interests (responding to an enquiry you initiated, and securing our website), performance of a contract where you go on to book work, and legal obligation for financial record-keeping.
We do not use your details for marketing unless you have separately asked us to, and we never sell your data.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses a tracking script provided by GoHighLevel (LeadConnector), the customer relationship system we use to manage enquiries. It records which pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, and - if you submit the quote form - links that enquiry to your visit, so that we know which of our pages actually help people and can respond to you with context.
To do this it stores an identifier in your browser. That identifier is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not shared with advertising networks. We set no advertising cookies of our own.
You can block it with any standard content or tracking blocker, or by using your browser’s private browsing mode. The quote form still works if you do - it sends your enquiry to us by email as well.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate, and only as far as they need it:
- Our website hosting provider.
- Our email provider, which delivers enquiry notifications to us.
- GoHighLevel (LeadConnector), our customer relationship system. Enquiries submitted through the quote form are stored there so we can respond to you and keep a record of the work. It is a US-based provider.
- Our accountant, for financial records.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on the appropriate safeguards permitted under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Customer records: for the duration of the relationship and then six years, to meet HMRC record-keeping requirements.
- Server logs: a short retention period set by our hosting provider.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data erased, where we have no overriding obligation to keep it.
- Restrict or object to how we process it.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on.
To exercise any of these, email hello@cleanerbrighton.com. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and enquiry data is transmitted encrypted. Access to customer records is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.
